Jersey
Channel Islands scandal sweeping their dirty linen under the
carpet and doing cover ups?
If
you haven’t
heard about the child abuse in Jersey
Channel Islands I would be very surprised but here is a link to the
background
and latest information on it for you click
here:
Jersey’s
Chief Minister Frank Walker was caught
out lying last night when being interviewed by Jeremy Paxman on BBC
Two's
Newsnight. I
watched the program and was
amazed at the way Chief Minister Frank Walker actually thought he could
get
away with this, especially as everyone clearly heard what he had said.
Maybe
Jersey’s
Chief Minister Frank Walker is so used
to being cosseted by the local media within the Island who have a
strong
tendency in the opinion of a lot of islanders to come down on the side
of the
Establishment click run by Chief Minister Frank Walker that he thought
his
lying would not be reported on. I
live
in Jersey and have often seen examples of this in our media, just a
slant put
on events that always appear to favour the Chief Minister Frank Walkers
Establishment clicks point of view.
This
entire Establishment click appear to be interested in is Jersey’s
finance and
obviously Jersey having a clean reputation is very important to the
financial
sector. After hearing Chief Minister Frank Walker’s
comments, he
obviously to my mind finds this more important than any child abuse or
child,
children’s
murders. Click
her to judge for yourself:
If
you speak to anyone off the record in Jersey there are not many who
wouldn’t
say if being honest that you will not get far if you buck the system
and are outspoken about the real things that go on in the island. All the media are on
licences which have to
be renewed. The
majority of people
employed by the states of jersey finance sector come from outside the
island,
and if they don’t
do as they are told will inevitably get
the sack and consequently their qualifications to live in the island. Just how many of them do
you think wouldn’t
tow the line
and turn a blind eye to wrong doings taking into account the huge
salaries that
some of them are on, and
the lifestyle
that this enables them to have? Well one did a report that the
Establishment
didn’t
like Stephen Sharp and guess what, you got it he was got rid of!
Now
I was in Jersey from the early 1960’s
and have heard
many of the horror stories which have been going around on the Jersey
Grapevine
as have many long standing or Jersey born residents.
I
can tell you for a fact that it isn’t
only the
children in the Jersey care homes that have been subject to criminal
offences
that have not been investigated. When my adoptive mother broke my nose
and
battered me on one occasion a friend of mine Shirley reported it to the
authorities who promptly told her to mind her own business and refused
to take
a statement from her or look into the incident further.
A
friend of mine had a horrendous criminal offence committed against
her, a serious one in my opinion and I don’t
say that lightly. I am not at
liberty to tell you what this was at this moment in time, but I have
told her
she should go and tell Senator Stuart Syvret and have it investigated,
until
she does I can do nothing more, as I gave her my word that I wouldn’t,
but what I can
say is that I reported it to the Police at the time and they didn’t
want to know
about it, and they took no action what-so-ever. I am a firsthand
witness to the
facts of what happened to her and it is something I have had to live
with, the
horror she went through was just gross beyond words, and my heart
bleeds for
her and the loss she endured at the time!
One
of the big problems is the way relevant information and documents
have a habit of disappearing or not being found when needed in Jersey. When records have vanished
how can a real investigation
on anything be completed properly?
The
Establishment click of Jersey need to wake up to the fact that
while the outside world isn’t
part of the Jersey Goal fish bowl and
although while within the Goal Fish bowl they might well be big fish,
when it
comes to the Goal fish bowl being put into the sea of the big wide
world they
are no longer big fish and things like media reporting in the big wide
world
doesn’t
require a licence from them to publish what goes on in the world,
Jersey included!
The
overriding concern of the establishment is the image of Jersey -
to prosecute people would be apocalyptically bad for the Jersey
establishment."
Senator
Stuart Syvret ‘The
former health
minister for Jersey produced a "top-secret report"
in which he has claimed there was evidence of
senior government figures covering up sexual abuse in the wake of a
care home
scandal, he has claimed there is a culture of cover-up and concealment
on the
island and said the report is evidence of that.
You
will find Senator Stuart Syvret’s
blog a real eye opener! He
doesn’t
pull his punches, refreshing in
an island where a lot of people have been afraid to speak out for far
too long!
